Born in 1979 in Hawaii, he is an American artist who lives and works in New York.
After practicing graffiti in Hawaii, Buff Monster moved in 1997 to Los Angeles, where he began an art career in the creation of prints.
Since 2002, he has gone international and shown his works on canvas in various cities such as Barcelona, Los Angeles, New York, and Tokyo. Since 2010, his work has been in the permanent collection of the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery. More recently, Jeffrey Deitch, former director of MOCA in Los Angeles, chose him in 2015 for the creation of a mural project in Coney Island. Characterized by the color pink, Buff Monster’s works are composed of humorous monsters dripping like melted ice. His visual world is imbued with references to heavy metal music, pop art, and Japanese culture as well as graffiti.
